Can help me solve my computer problem...
My com is acer P2 266mhz, quite old liao, bought around 3 years ago for 3K++
When i on my computer nothing comes out on the monitor.. only pitch black, but the green light on the monitor and cpu is on and the small fan on the processor is working fine... everything seem to be working fine... Whats wrong?? HDD?... ram?... VGA?... or motherboard? or.... Pls advise...

open up your pc casing and reseat your card.
if it doesn't work, borrow a working graphic card and try.. -

I don't think that is a hardware problem if you fan and processor is working as usuaL... maybe monitor spoiLed ??? check you monitor...

The problem lies with your monitor. Probably the cathode tude inside is burnt. The only solution is to replace the monitor.

try to borrow a moniter & see if u can view it... most prob dat's the prob... hmm, lookin at the specs of ur comp, also high time to change liaoz...

swope the monitor and comfirm whether it's the monitor first...
display card shld be cheap, for yr case, go sim lim sq n look for used display card (u don need NEW one) or can go yahoo auction n search for it. can also buy used monitor there also...cheaper leh...

Btw, I think you should probably ask a friend who is experienced to check out your computer. Probably will saved you some time -

u should try to get a PCI graphic card, ur M/B cannot support the current graphic card..

but 1st or alll.....wen u on ur com got e sound anot..???e sound can or maybe tell u wat is goin wrong....!!!tat sound cum frm ur pc speaker...

sound? i only heard some sound from the processor fan... do u mean music from the speaker?

well, DrAlpha mean that u might heard some beep sounds.. for example, if memory problem, the computer will keep beeping..
I would agreed that likely the graphic card is gone.. get a new one.. -
CHECK the monitor cable...some of the wires or pins may be loose/bent/broken.....try a new monitor cable..
