But at the very least we should get the girls to understand what we guys do in NS, or even better, one week stay in Tekong just for first hand experience.
I got scolded by many girls before when I said things like "NS could be a waste of time" etc. They said "It is the duty of guys", "Don't know we know nothing of NS". Come on, protecting one's homeland is NOT solely the duty of guys. When things really happen, they will be the ones who panic first. If they really know about NS, they would understand WHY many guys have this mindset. Apparently they don't.
Also, if someone can remember, that's an article on "Today" newspaper back in March. A well written one I should say, entitled "Why Singapore women doesn't want Singapore men" or something like that. -
I just read in a weapons mag called " soldier of fortune", the mecenaries which are the so called professional soldiers, earn US$1000 a day to work in IRAQ and Afghanistan... NS earn only S$250 per month... so cibai.... I think also very fed up...

Why should we treat the ladies well? They are NOT ladylike nowadays... Also, there is quite a number of articles talking abt Singapore Girls don't want Singapore Boys! i might be 'da nan ren' but i think that those women who didn't serve in the uniformed groups didn't contribute anything to the security of the nation.......
i think that we should make ns compulsory for women but no military services for them as the fitness level of most females here are quite weak so we had to spend more time and $$$ training them to combat fit........
should put them into service side or nurses etc
