One thing i like about Malaysia's NS is that females are involved. It is FAIR ! a country belongs to all citizens living in it.. morever in small population like ours, we should make full use of every able human.
Guys ! am i right ? -
Their NS is summer camp leh. Cannot compare.

girls in ns is fine with me. but some girls are not able to handle it. they are so dainty and tink that the mud and soil can corrode their dewy skin away. so princessy, so urgh.

Erm, I have that problem too and I am a male. My skins is very sensitive.

ns does not haf to mean military service.
ns can take the form of nursing, paramedical, etc services.
its a political move. i guess right now the government dont c a need to take tt risk of alienating an even larger portion of the populace for tt. -
How I wish females will be in the military NS too.
Problem is most of them are too pampered. Cannot take this, cannot do that.
The 'gahmen' says it will ruin the country's wealth.. Aiyoh.. Then like this hor, might as well remove guys from NS too. Then Singapore very rich arh!.. Got war just hire 'foreign talents' can liao!
Guys study liao, go NS, come out, the mind already rusty.
Girls just jump straight to the coporate world.
Unfair arh.. And the NS salary so little. Maybe train them to be in healthcare, got medics in war better. -

But we have to face the fact mah, to me i can't find any fun part of NS. If given ORD on the spot in exchange for my few years of my life i dun mind... Considered a soldier after 3months BMT? Thats barely the basics learnt there. Training to be a soldier is a neverending on-going process. in any case the term used by the authorities for NS is - "National Service LIABILITY".
however being a liability does not preclude it from being a duty. i am liable to serve ns. at the same time i take it as a duty as a citizen of this country. -
NS just sux big time....wasting 2 and a half yrs for some bloody farking military training...fark ns.....

they made it clear from the start that the participants were selected through balloting...

I remember once a girl told me that they will their have own form of NS eventually, by having babies.
Since with the falling birth rate in sg, apparently most of them are not performing their NS.
I think they should be sent to DB, I will be honour to volunteer as a instructor...

The government should imposed conscription on girls to serve National Service. Every human, be it a guy or a gal has its use. If rubbish can be recycled, why can't girls serve NS?

Hmm ... in my opinion ... NS just remain compulosry to men and optional for the women ^^.
Come on , we shld treat the ladies well mah ... thats why we give them a choice whether to go or not. ( which i think the current NS policy is so) ... in this way everyone is happy...
the again some males will argue ...NO fair ... why male compulsory =_=" ... dont u think its our duty to serve NS and later protect our country and the ladies ?.... thats a true gentlemen. -
