thank u for ur thoughts borg.... i do agree to alil of wat u've written... but not all long distant r/s will end up in break ups.. for me i'm apart from my gal for almost the whole year.. sometimes we're only together for like 14 days out of the year... maybe for u, the distant is too far apart.. but for my case, she's an indonesian, i too am half- indo.. n i do have my families over in jkt as well.. so she would always visit my relatives on the weekends.. she's like a family to me already.. my family in indo loves her very much.. and likewise when i visit her on my leaves.. her family is close to me as well, so theres no issue of breaking up.. we both hv lots of trust in each other.. we keep in contact.. its a matter of finding the right person.. if u r not meant to be with her, u'r not.. we're planning our marriage soon... going back to indo spending the rest of my life with my families... so not all long distant r/s ends in tears..Originally posted by borgkilla:trust me long distance relationships do not work out

you and they are meeting new people all the time and are spending time with other ppl, its just a matter of time before he/she meets someone that they really like..
happened to me twice, one was an malaysian girl and it didnt work out, and the other a english girl. The time apart really affects the relationship.
Take my advice if you are apart for more than 2 months at any one time.. move on its just not worth the emotional risk.

some the male expats working in SG.. are busy trying to tackle the local ladies..when they are either married or have a gf back in the UK/EU/ etc .... once they had their fun they split leaving the local ladies .... goin back to their 'civilized' lives.
ok my example may not be a good one but shows u the difficulty in maintaining a long distance relatiionship.

was dating a thai girl.. nice while it lasted
now have my eyes set on this malay girl ( local SG ) -
I'm in canada and i'm not asian ....but one thing i like all girl type but i got a soft spot for asian lady .....they are the prettiest ...my friend know it when i see a asian lady i stop listening what he saying lol i like the culture and the fighting style (martial art) of asian ... That why i want to live near there in a few years
