smaller snakes may be poisonous and they hunt and prey on smaller game, like insect, beetles, other larger bugs and lizards. some of them despite their sizes have lethal and deadly venoms which may kill or paralyse within seconds of injection into the blood stream. mid-sized snakes of such includes the side-winder (not the low flying missile which was named after the snake hor), rattlesnake and cobra.
constrictors, on the other hand, are very much larger in size. Their venom are also deadly but their main tool in hunting and securing their prey is 'coiling' around the victim with their bulk and crashing the prey, deforming and twisting it until they can swallow it in.
Boa is just one of the constrictors. Anaconda is another.
