there is live electricity on MRT tracks

  on the track no electricity...
  the track act as common...u touch it...u can die...
  the volts come from the top cable...high voltage running thru the cable...when the bird touch it..cant die coz there is no voltage drop between the bird and the cable...so u can c birds on electic cables on de streets....
  so even if u step on the track..u can die.. not 1 side got one side no...

  for those of you who are interested to noe. the above explanation is correct. the track got no power is acting as ground . but the power doesn't come from some overhead cable crap.
  
  next time when waiting for the train on the platform you look at the side opposite you. should c a white square box like rail that is the power source eg the live . and the rail is the neutral. so actually you won't die by touching the rail.but instant death by touching the box. but then only the under side(bottom) of the box is conductor. eg the up/ left / right are insulator. then there is a sort of carbon contact on the train that tap power from the up side.
  
  carbon is both good conductor and also a good friction reducing material.remember your sec sch chem about the sliding layer of graphite.
