I am from a boys' school. I want to make friends with the the other gender. Although there is an all-girls school mjust opposite my school, I don't know anyone, i'm too shy. Can anyone advise me on this?

Maybe try to make it clear that you just want to be a friend and not appear to have any ulterior motive.
Remember, gals from an all gals school will probably feel the same as guys from an all guys school. They will probably feel awkward, or even intimidated.
Its easier if both of you have a common topic, say, the same CCA, or if you already seen each other maybe if both of you take the same bus to school.
It is truly not advisable to just walk up and say "Can i have your number?" or anything to that effect as it may give gals the wrong impression. Have initiative but do not be pushy. Most importantly, be sincere. -

Can I say that just be yourself and be nice and friendly ? well... in my case i always go to school in a crazy mood... just make the class laugh and all.... and there was this 1 time in the lecture theater while watching something this girl i had a crush on just came and sat beside me one day and start a conversation.... but now my best friend became her "ultimate" friend or something... haiz... but thats out of the topic... yah lah... just be yourself ok ?

i think the moral of the story is to just be yourself... talk to her like u will talk to any other ppl... just try not to lie yur way through... i read frm somewhere that girls can somehow tell if a guy is bullshitting... so just be true and friendly...
