Man used cellphone to spy on landlady
A 32 year old engineer who used a camera phone to snoop on his landlady having an intimate moment with her boy friend was yesterday jailed for two weeks and fined $2,000.
Chin .. admitted he had intruded on the 36-year-old womanÂ’s privacy at her Hougang flat on the night of Feb 23.
He had taken footage of the couple by climbing onto a chair and then slotting his camera phone between the window grooves above the door of her room.
Both the landlady and her 20-year-old boyfriend spotted him doing it but pretended to be unaware.
After a while, she dashed to the door, opened it and demanded he hand over his phone.
Her boy friend found several photographs of them in the phone, some of which were in the nude.
The woman called the police, who later seized the mobile phone.
For intruding on the privacy of a woman, Chin could have been jailed for up to one year or fined, or both. -
