Dear folks,
In view of the recent media spotlight on Sggirls.com, i cannot help but ponder whether if we have lost our founder's intentions when he 1st established this website.
I believe our founder (this 24 year Singaporean chap) wanted this site to be a pure website featuring pretty , unique and charming Singapore girls in decent poses so that we can appreciate and praise the girl's beauty.
But somewhere along the line, this simple and pure vision of appreciating beauty is lost when we see people posting all sorts of sexually suggestive pictures of women in their candid positions. So we are no longer appreciators of Sg girls beauty but Peeping Toms of Singapore.
I must say that our moderators are trying very hard to weed out pornographic pictures and pictures with illicit content. But, i believe the moderators are short-staffed and sometimes, a few obscene pics get pass our moderators.
I think the crux of the problem is that (i)Sggirls.com features sexually candid pictures of women and (ii) Sggirls.com allow immoral pics (though not pornography pics) such as the intimate school girls pictures to be posted.
Some forum mates may feel that websites such as Sammyboy.com are worser and sggirl is the lesser evil. But the contentious issue is that sggirls.com is featuring innocent women( under (i) and (ii) ) whereas cheap sluts and prostitutes are featured in sammyboy.com.
These innocent women can be your beloved girlfriends, wifes, or sisters. We may enjoy the cheap thrill now in ogling at such pictures of category (i) and (ii) but BAd Karma will return one day when u realize the woman in the picture is someone you know and love.
May i suggest that we increase the number of moderators and the moderators work in shifts 24/7 to ensure the site is secured from pictures of type (i) and (ii). And also, Can we eliminate the category of "Candid", "lingerine" and "sexually(Not suitable for Children)" pictures?
Hmm, i would really like to hear from our founder (this 24 year old Singaporean) and our moderators on my opinion.
Thanks.
My comment!
All the adverse comments mentioned, as I see them are basically, I quote “user problem”.
The website is just a tool. The user is responsible for what they posted on the website.
If the user is innocent, it is high time that they be taught to be responsible. We can learn from the many examples that are “news” recently. The action taken by those in authorities against the bloggers for making unfounded remarks, or netizen condemning racist remarks made by one of the bloggers.
Just imagine that you are to set up a website similar to sggirls, with any number of moderators that you deem fit to work in shifts 24/7 to ensure that the website is secure. All moderators will be to the same mind and same standard as yours in their acceptance of photographs without the “Candid”, “lingerie” and “(Not suitable for Children)” pictures.
You tell us at the end of the day what do you expect to see on this website? You expect Ah Gong and Ah Ma to come?
Just my 2 cents worth of comment!
