Approaching a girl

how about just giving the girl your phone number in a card or something, if she is interested, she will call you. Just straight forward, no cheesy stuff. Say something like I've noticed you around and would like to get to know you... here is my number. That way you don't put the girl on the spot as well, you give her an easy out.
My opinion, we guys never really know what a girl is thinking. Never try to second guess them. Stick to the KISS principle... Keep It Simple S..... you know what I mean.
That way if she dosen't call, you know what to do and generally avoid all the akwardness and unpleasantness. -
In all honesty, gals are pretty straightforward. If they do reciprocate your attempts at being friends, there's a high chance that she wants to make friends with you too. Don't worry so much about making a wrong move. Be natural, and relaxed. It is important not to falsely "create" an image that you are very cool, etc etc whatsoever.
E-mailing is quite alright. Treat her naturally like you treat your friends, and you'll find that you'll make progress pretty smoothly. -

haha i've heard of some fun stuff to getting girls' number... 2 methods from my frens. 1 i thought it out
1. Write on a piece of tissue, den pass to her without saying anything (must make sure she has a hp first) Within 5 mins, the gal called my fren
2. walk up to her and say, "Hey, i've lost my phone number. can i haf yrs?" (Not tested)
3. if everyday meet her, say good morning to her and gif a short smile. dun bother if she got return the greeting anot. do this everytime u see her. when she finally returns the greeting one day, continue for another week before chatting her up.

jus b yrself and don't smother her. Don't get her any gifts untill u r gd fwends. And when u think it's the right time ask her if she is interested in you, if she says no, then you don't have to waste any more time on her lor.

hAhA, there was this gal who was bside my class last time. I hav barely see her afew times then i asked for her no. she gave me her msn instead. Then everyday tok cock finally got her no. i juz went out w her last week!!!
just tell youself you hav to be calm and there is no other way out for you but to ask for her no.

Now, there's this girl at one particular MRT station I'm really impressed with and I see her almost everyday. She sees me too, but basically, I'm just one of the many people she just casually glances at etc.
I'm getting more interested in her with each passing day until I now realize that there's no choice but to walk up to her and ask for her phone number.
In such a case, how will the average Singaporean girl feel? I know in Western countries, this is nothing...but Singapore is still pretty conservative by current standards.
Furthermore, she's a down-to-earth and well-behaved girl from what I've found out, not some kind of gangster girl. This makes it even harder.
I'm not scared of approaching her, but I'm scared of [b]freaking her out!
If she freaks out, there goes my chances.
So, from a female's point of view, how will a well-behaved and decent 19-year old college student feel(that's her)?
