But I AM curious as to the actual standards of English in the States. I mean, like, I wasn't born or raised there, and my english is fairly readable, so I expect that most people there would have at least basic grasp of the language... and then again, there is the whole thing about the multitude of slangs and lingos so.... maybe thats why their english is less than basic.
Well, not about the USA now but from what I heard when I was taking my 'O's my mum's friend who is a teacher told me that we will be surprised to learn that Singaporeans are actually getting better scores in English compared to those guys taking the exam in England. The reason she cited was the various slangs and words used from the different regions.
Anyway, I'm not too sure if this information is still relavent as that is like information from 10 years ago -

oh ok. so i suppose you speak chinese too? Anyways, yeah pity Kerry lost. I liked him loads more than Bushy. Well unfortunately no there is no other way to talk. Hey it's only 2am. If u know us, we often chat well into the night... like.... till 5 or even 6am. Heh.

i live in GArden GRove city. How u know disneyland next to anaheim. Have u been here before.. IT is nice to know peoples outside my place. It bore here now since i been to most of the place aready. am an out going person. Well kinda cute back now, cause no place to go.

Yes mate, I've been to Disneyland back in 2000. I also know about the Anaheim Angels baseball team and the Anaheim Ducks ice hockey team. Well hey I'm living in London right now, and I suppose u would love it here. It's got LOTS of places for someone who's outgoing to go. I should know. am out going, but i dont go that far. Never been outside of USA yet. Only around that state.. It a big different if i compare the Westside to the Eastside. u know what i mean right, it a big country. Anyway THe only sport am in is Tennis the rest not really matter. AM not their fan
