i think dat another 1 is abt control ur temper 1.. e dad ask e son 2 cut e tree bark everytime he's angry & at e end of 1 mth den c hw many cuts he make.. den e son began 2 decrease e num of cuts bcoz his temper get better.. den e dad say sth abt although u angry, e cuts r still dat.. e hurt still remain.. or sth like dat?Originally posted by edLow:no no. think is the son ask his father wat is love. den his father ask him to walk straight down choosing the best tree he see.. chop it down n bring back.
the onli rule for this game is. u can only choose the tree by walking straight, you can turn back and pick a tree u saw earlier.
and the child came back without a tree.. and explain to his father why didnt he had a tree back with him..
the story is related to love n life... cant remember the exact moral of the story liao. but goes something like this.. in this life, if u miss something on purpose thinking there something better in front and carry on with life... u might not find something better at the end of the day.. so in short, mean dont be wishy-washy lor.

ahh. this is the story i refering to. hahahaOriginally posted by xavier1979:One similar story is about Plato and Socrates.
One day, Socrates asked his teacher Plato, "What is love?"
Plato told him, "Go through the wheat field once, never turning back. Pick the tallest wheat you can find and bring it back."
Socrates went through the wheat field but came back empty-handed.
Plato asked why. Socrates explained, "While I was walking through the field, I spotted a tall wheat plant. But I fear there may be a taller one behind. So I decided to forgo the first one. Alas, there was none taller one behind. So I came back with nothing."
Plato then told Socrates again, "Go through the woods once, never turning back. Choose the best tree you can find and bring it back."
Socrates went through the woods. This time round, he came back with an average-looking tree.
Plato asked why. Socrates explained, "While I was walking through the woods, I spotted this tree. It may not be the most beautiful or the most sturdy, but it was good in my eyes. And I fear there may not be another one like it further down. So I decided to bring back this one."
Plato then said, "And thus this is love."
