Then what if they're in the weightlifting team?

they're already dumbbells?
Damn, what I'd give to see weightlifting kids carrying their barbells around in public.

Very irritating to keep avoiding their paddles...and they will be in their standard NUM singlets and Havaianas slippers I thought there's a locker or room to keep their paddles at the shed?
So if i'm a boxer, i must carry my gloves ah?

LOL. NO, WE don't keep our paddles in/on the boat, in the shed or whatever. We own our paddles, therefore we bring home to keep. In fact it is very troublesome to carry that paddles around from Kallang to Orchard. And yes, I also carry my boxing gloves around too. Usually in the bag, I dont like to tell the world that I know how to box. But paddles... How to squeeze into bag you teach me?!
well, someone i know keeps them in a shed with the boats coz he knows how troublesome carrying em around in public...
always keep a lookout of where u're going..
dun get to engrossed with ur mobile phone otherwise...

if you must carry them all over the place, please try your best not to hit innocent bystanders or make complete asses of yourselves. all in the spirit of civic mindedness of course

Then in that case, take some reasonable steps....
In the first place, if you already have big and heavy paddles, then minimize the time you carry it around in public. Go straight to training from home, and go home directly from training. Don't go anywhere else along the way.
If you want to go to Orchard or anything after training, then at least dump your stuff at home first before going out.
If you really have to go somewhere else, then the onus would still be on you to ensure that your equipment does not hurt or inconvenience others. Don't be a goondu who swings around without caring about how your paddle might hit others. Also, carry it such that you minimize the 'footprint' it makes when you're taking public transport.

Of course lah, the paddle so big you cannot see meh. Pay you scratch the paddle, must pay and it is not cheap ok.
The black one cost like 200 plus, the wooden one is only 80 plus.

Does it make sense for you to travel from Tamp to Kallang, then Kallang to Tamp then from Tamp to Orchard, then Orchard to Tamp. Do you think that I am doing a quest in Maplestory??
I make sure that my paddle dont get scratch. Scratches will affect the rowing performance.
I think maybe how...about...a little common sense?
I dun go to buy a cash and carry TV then after that still go shopping in Orchard, lugging the TV around in crowded ORchard. WHY? You know WHY? Because it is damn heavy and it is so crowded! So the right thing is for me to either go HOME, stay at HOME or GO HOME, drop the TV first then come to ORCHARD. WOW! I have common sense!
for the sake of others, YES!
btw.. you've just shown that you are lacking in social graces...
oh yeah.. put some proper clothes on.. going around in singlets and lugging your bloody "expensive" oar around just shows that you don't give a shit about people around you..
and frankly, you disgrace not only yourself, but whatever stupid club or school or organisation you claim to "represent"
So I've got a chicken and egg question.
Are nimrods attracted to dragonboating or does dragonboating turn people into nimrods?

who cares?
at least now we've confirmed something..
whatever it is, it's all bad

Uh... then it makes sense to carry one valuable bigass heavy paddle that must not be scratched around from Tampines to Kallang to Orchard to Tampines?
Do you really even need to go to Orchard right after training when you're already tired and you still have to lug that thing around? Why not just go home, rest properly, and then just go out on another day when there is no training?
Oh, and I see that the surface quality of your precious paddle is more important to you than other people's faces who may smack into it. Good to know you got your priorities right.
And I see that going out to have fun at Orchard with your precious paddle is smarter than stowing it away safely at home first. Yup, very smart.
