  The place is rich.

  Rich with lots of billionaires.

  Rich with lots of low wage workers.

  Rich with jobless PMETs.

  Not forgetting rich with high suicide and divorce.

  Having money not necessarily mean good quality of life. I believe SIngapore is one of the richest country in the world with many unhappy people living there.

  Well if you think about it....wud make sense. How wud u like it if the difference btwn u working hard and not is arnd 1k-2k/mth...ever see some of the workers in not so good jobs...when working they have this glaze over their face. Its like they are resigned to their fate....no spark at all. Live one day at a time. There you have civil servants who earn that amount in half a day maybe less. Big wide income disparity is unhealthy. And all because you did not did not do well academically. In other words the value of yer sweat is determined in school. Not enough manpower at the lower echelons we import. Talent is scarce in Singapore so wages needs to be high to attract them. The lower echelons its ok they are easily replaceable lol.

  I don't get it, why the top 1% not finding ways to help the rest, don't they know by moving money around are escalating the income gap...

  Here;s the myth that rich folks create jobs, the speaker a venture capitalist that dare to go against conventional wisdom that middle income earners are the ones sustaining the consumer economy..
