Youth must have right mix of idealism, pragmatism: Lim SS

  SINGAPORE: The youth of today must have the right mix of idealism and pragmatism in order to be leaders of the future.

  This was highlighted by labour chief Lim Swee Say at a youth awards ceremony on Saturday.

  Mr Lim said having this balance allows for more good to be done for society.

  And he had praises for the 70,000 youth members of 'nEbO' - calling them a "very special breed of youths in Singapore", who have demonstrated this balance.

  According to NTUC Club's website, the 'nEbO' movement was launched in 2009 to bridge the gap between the youth and the labour movement.

  Mr Lim was there to recognise some of the movement's young members for their contributions and service to the community.

  idealism and pragmatism

  Idealism is liken to postive imagination, and pragmatism is loving kindness and benevolent wellness. If the youth of the entire world embarks in both such positivity and imaginatively emptiness in joys, the world of tomorrow is connected loving kindnessly together for world peace. And the government and NTUC have to come out money and resources to support unconditionally to develop these idealism and pragmatism...

  Please dun be smoked by the useless media.

  There are more than enough vacancies for engineers.

  But, the company would rather pay peanuts salary to employ people with dubious degree and produce sub-quality work.

  Only things that they are good at is bull-shitting and boot-licking.

  Your friends are facing reality in such case that when you are still a engineer at 45, prepare to wait for the pink slip and become a taxi driver.

  Why not earn more money when they are young ?

  I am tired of the government. Although I am not affected by the cost of HDB, cov, erp, etc, I am just very tired of them.
