Ok loh. I was just sharing my experience.
I'm not trying to endorse singtel services by the way.
Originally posted by ditzy:Of course they would. So far, singtel standard rates is 22 dollars per mb. Smartphones have the option to disable overseas data roaming, found in the network settings.
So far I have used the data roaming in japan, thailand, and vietnam, but on singtel's packaged day/s rates, and I love it. If you researched, its actually cheaper than to get a local sim card. I get unlimited data for the number of days paid for. Cheapest I got was $15 per day to $100 for 5 days.
Most important thing to note is that the rate is only applicable to singtel affiliated network, so must use manual network selection to lock that network, otherwise a whole new set of charges apply, than yes you see hell on your bill.
So it's ok to enable data roaming when overseas?
Will kena if go malaysia? indonesia? thailand? brunei? vietnam?
Sentosa or Ubin?

Its ok as long as you have deep pockets.
I also kenna b4 this type of case but not singtel...
End up go bang table at telco few times then okay liao... They also waive off...
The root of the problem lies in these type of 3rd party company... We must have an agreement of some sort b4 they can charge us thru telco... Besides, since phone numbers are re-used, they also cannot make sure the user are still using the same number, it could have been a new user...
Telco dun mind to waive off these charges... but if the root of the problem isn't addressed, waive and waive is not a permenant solution...
