Most singles want to get married, have two or more children

  SINGAPORE: Most singles desire to get married and most would like to have two or more children. These are some of the key findings of a Marriage and Parenthood study commissioned by the National Population and Talent Division.
  
  The study involved more than 4646 people, aged between 21 and 45 years old.
  
  It aims to understand the attitudes and motivations behind Singapore residents' marriage and parenthood trends.
  
  83 per cent of single respondents indicated that they desired to get married. This is similar (85 per cent) to the last study done in 2007.
  
  Respondents said they were not married because they had not met a suitable partner, they wanted to concentrate on their careers or studies, and they did not have enough money.
  
  For those in serious relationships, they said they were not marrying yet because they wanted to save money for housing and the wedding, and that they were too young to get married.
  
  The study found that parenthood aspirations remained strong.
  
  80 per cent of singles who indicated a desired number of children wanted to have two or more children. This is comparable to 84 per cent in 2007.

  Aiya, in life what we wanted are often what we dun get...

   

  I also wan 3 meals in high klass restorant everyday but I eat hawker or food court...

  I also wan drive ferrari but I no money so have to squeeze with peepur at MRT...

   

  The survey is actually not saying much... Total waste of effort...

  another crappy news.       only super minority want 2 kids or more.      another news to brainwash people to have more kids ? ? ? ?? ? 

  When talk about giving birth, first from people's mouth is living costs too high, cannot afford to have kids or more kids.

  I suppose they specially selected the super minority who want 2 kids or more to participate in this study.

  On the topic I actually have a good friend that has (last year if I'm right) 4 kids..... as we all know job stability is shaky once you reach a certain age. He was unlucky in that aspect.

  Wife is housewife I mean 4 kids.....might as well.

  So my friend now is looking at golden handshake with 4 kids and a housewife.

  Have kids by all means..... just know when to say enough is enough.
