I've seen many White tourists from Malaysia going to Singapore by bus. These tourists are normally from Thailand. They exited Thailand for two weeks and after that re-enter Thailand again to extend their social visit pass. Its very common for them to do that to extend their social visit passes. Singapore Immigration Officers and MOM Officers term this method of extending social visit passes as "Ding-Dong." These White tourists are smart now. They will stay in JB, then they will take a bus to Singapore to have a visit for the whole day. Then, they will return to JB. If they are unable to complete their sight-seeing in Singapore for a day, they will return to JB and re-enter Singapore the next day to continue their sight-seeing in Singapore. They told me that its cheaper for them to stay in JB than in Singapore and they said that Singapore is a small island, so it would only take them two or three days to complete their sight-seeing in Singapore. So Ang Moh tourists now are smarter.

Actually, this practice had been quite long. There are people who actually do this while working a project in SG also. -

Yes, true. Many foreigners who entered Singapore with a social visit pass to look for employment in Singapore will do likewise too by exiting to JB and later return to Singapore to have their passport stamped for another 30 days social visit pass. About what you have just said, if they are caught while working on a project without a valid work permit and getting paid by the employers, they can be charged for working illegally as an illegal worker in Singapore by MOM and also ICA. -

I agree that if they are caught but they must be very unlucky to get caught. This is very common for those service/commissioning engineer. And if they get caught, they can claim that they are just in the office place for meeting. -

MOM or ICA will only raid that place when they are sure of the suspects status base on the information they have received. They will normally observe and follow the suspects for a couple of days, sometimes weeks or even months if its a big profile case. So they cannot claim that they are just in the office place for meeting. The witnesses are the MOM or ICA officers themselves. The evidences are gathered by the MOM or ICA officers themselves too. -

singapore has security. tourist can just DIY wonder around the island no worries.try that just on other countries randomly on the streets. try that.
for this, we willnot allw massive rapid uncontrolled influx of foreign cultures and people in. otherwise it will be another china , philipines, indonesia in singapore.
