Computer firm says town council's claim "inaccurate"

SINGAPORE: A disagreement between Aljunied-Hougang Town Council (AHTC) and a company that used to provide its computer and financial systems continues.
In a letter to the media, Action Information Management Pte Ltd (AIM) said AHTC Chairman Sylvia Lim's allegation that a service extension with AIM had to be "fought for" was inaccurate.
AIM said two service extensions were granted - in August and September 2011 - before the contract lapsed.
AIM also said it would have agreed to a further extension if the AHTC had asked for it.
As AHTC did not do so, the contract was allowed to lapse.
Ms Lim had said they did not believe any further extension was forthcoming.
AIM Chairman S Chandra Das said the company's current directors, three former People's Action Party (PAP) MPs, namely himself, Chew Heng Ching, and Lau Ping Sum do not receive directors' fees or any other benefits.
In a separate letter, PAP Town Councils said its Town Councils Management System (TCMS) was sold to AIM through an open tender, and their contract was in accordance with the Town Councils' Financial Regulations.
Ms Lim had earlier asked why PAP Town Councils (TCs) had transferred ownership of its computer software to a third party, and questioned the AIM's contract with the PAP TCs.
Coordinating Chairman of 14 PAP TCs Dr Teo Ho Pin said the TCMS owned and used by them was developed by National Computer Services Pte Ltd.
In 2010, PAP TCs called an open tender to sell the ownership of the developed application software.
Dr Teo said although five companies collected the tender agreement, the sole bid was submitted by AIM, a company fully owned by the PAP.
AIM offered to buy the software for S$140,000 and manage the system for a monthly fee of S$785 per TC, for an initial term ending 31 October 2011.
Dr Teo said after the 2011 general election, AIM decided to end the contract with AHTC.
AIM only owns the rights to the software, so all computer hardware belong to the respective TCs and these remained with AHTC when its contract with AIM ended.
Dr Teo also said the handover by AIM to AHTC took place from 27 May to 9 September, and during the transition, AIM had promptly handed over all data and information to AHTC in accordance with the TC's preferred format.

sounds like a cheapo company to handle all those computer and billing stuff. very insecure.
did anyone ask whats in the accounting tha the town councils prolly wouldnt want anyone else to see?
we didnt even have a conclusion to the Lehman Bros minibond scandal
So many cover ups and I wonder how many people still believe these lies? How many times do they have to lie to you before you finally wake up? Sometimes I really can't believe how simple minded humans are until I've seen how Singaporeans are fed bias information by media controlled by the government.
Like for example, LHL say he seriously consider by-election, talk talk talk, no action. Opposition so efficient, something not right, they go ahead to do something.
Such scandals digged out, then people realize so many skeletons in the closet... it makes you think, this skeleton dig out from closet, how many hundreds and thousands of skeletons still inside the closet that was not digged out? This skeleton only digged out because of some lucky circumstances created by PAP themselves.
Also, think about this. A dormant company means no transaction ever. As long as there's 1 single transaction, it's NOT a dormant company anymore based on ACRA intepretation. So is there a transaction or no transaction or a truly dormant company? If dormant, then how come got transaction? How come a $2 company can have more than $2 to buy the software? In stock market, when you have inside information, and you trade based on that information, it's called insider trading and it's illegal. Are what they are doing illegal? How much more lies do they have to feed you guys before you all wake up? Why still vote for PAP?
The opposition have more than proved their capabilities. PAP have so many skeletons drop out of closet this year... I tell you, there are so many more you don't know about because they cover up very well.
It is a case for the opposition party to pursue further if they feel that there is a case.
Just like the Bicycle-gate incident, all thanks to the EDMW forumers, more doubts are raised and the case is being investigated.
If they dun pursue the case further but instead choose to make useless hints here and there, they have failed the people that have voted them in to stand up against wrongdoings.
Singapore dun need a opposition party that wayang during election and silent when they are needed to stand up for the people.
It
just like the followers of Kong Hee
so blind and brainwashed

""Dr Teo said although five companies collected the tender agreement, the sole bid was submitted by AIM, a company fully owned by the PAP. "
tot they r suppose to collect more than 1 bid otherwise its null & void. wat happen to land sales wen there is only 1 bid?
ITS STILL PUBLIC MONEY
PAP should look into this n give a full report
that being the case they can always put AIM aside and call for tender the second time.
Poeple are asking who were the other 4.
