Despite predicting a slowdown in the job market, 75 per cent of Singaporean workers are still considering changing jobs in 2013, according to the results of a JobStreet survey.
Most respondents cited salary and job advancement as why they are considering a job change. Majority of the 550 respondents also singled out the first quarter as the best time to start a job hunt.
The survey also found that Singaporean workers feel more optimistic in securing a job. Only 50 per cent of respondents said they expect themselves to take longer than three months to secure a job in 2013, compared to 70 per cent in 2012.
Companies are also taking a more optimistic approach to hiring with only 7 per cent of employers not intending to hire this year instead of 20 per cent in 2012.
However, 73 per cent of respondents expressed concerns over the job climate, particularly the possibility of a smaller supply of jobs. The 100 employers surveyed echoed the same sentiments for the job market next year.
Though only nine out of 100 employers felt that the national economy would pick up, majority indicated that they will still continue to hire.

with the combined power of the people, with votes we can also change gamen. or maybe force the gahmen to change. some of them wants to do good to the people, we have to identify them. but beccasue of the mafia ah pek, their powers are limited. those who cannot satnd the stomach ache resigned.
if we cant change them overnite, we have to change them to reflect a significant piece out of the ingapore map. like that we can still fight on for more change until the end of the world descend upon mfaia ah peh.
