This is by no means an isolated incident, and I just happened to come accross this while searching for information on singapore. I found multiple accounts of institutional racial prejudice in singapore.
Sure, if an individual does not like being belittled due to thier racial background they can leave. But that is not a productive way to look at it, problems should be addressed not shoved in people's faces. Singapore projects the aura of a world class city, and this is how it's citizens act?
I am neither Indian or Chinese and this does not paint singapore in a favorable light for foreign investment, touism, etc... Which creates jobs and expand the economy of any modern nation.
Sg is overrun by fts, getting difficult to find a Singaporean in the midst.
Well if you are not aware any driver in singapore would be mad if you dont have the right change since everything is very fast and systematic in singapor so if you are an indian, chinese or malay the driver would still be mad if you dont have the right change and its more like a mistake on your side....and i think calling the "suprisingly 'racist' singapore" is too much of an overstatement...
TS dun like Singaporeans.

What?
In Malaysia, we have a famous saying about Indians, "If you see a snake and an Indian, kill the Indian first then kill the snake". I wonder if Singaporeans have heard of this saying before or if there's a similar saying in Singapore?
Perhaps I am been rascists or perhaps non-Indian Malaysians are rascists but we have good reasons to distrust the Indians in Malaysia. Many of us have had experiences with dealing with Indians in Malaysia and most of the time, especially in business, they are always the ones least trusted amongst the races. From personal experience, I used to have an Indian partner in a partnership but it later split because he consistently misled the partnership.
There's no smoke without fire.
