SINGAPORE: Parts of City Hall MRT station have been hit by a power blackout.
One commuter told Channel NewsAsia that this happened at about 1.30pm on Friday.
When contacted, SMRT said the blackout affected the platforms serving the northbound and west-bound trains.
Trains are still running.
It said its staff are fixing the problem.
SMRT said due to the power trip, it could not alert commuters, but staff are using loud hailers to inform them of the blackout.
SMRT said on Twitter that escalators and some lights are down.
When contacted, Singapore Power described the blackout as an internal power trip at the station's end.

What else you want me to suggest?
Everybody needs to bring a Torchlight and 2 extra AA batteries just in case?

SMRT hath become the symbol of fail...
we shld start replacing the word fail with SMRT...
For example, "My son would have to retain 1 more year. His result slip was so SMRT."
New Singapore internet meme...

acid's so innovative.
this is poor electrical wiring. they just put all the lights to a breaker, to one main circuit board. so unless the whole station down if not one section down at least some areas will still have lights.
