Modestly populated S'pore works better

I AM concerned that the Government still believes Singapore needs to maintain the current population size ('Population will shrink from 2025 without new citizens'; last Wednesday).
Our small island already has more than enough people. Singapore has exceeded the population size that allows a healthy quality of life for its citizens.
Technology can possibly provide the infrastructure to support the increasing population, such as taller residential buildings and fully automated high-frequency train services.
Singapore can seek to have the best of both worlds - a well-educated citizenry driving the economy through high-value-added services, and the more mundane needs met by foreign labour.
But a highly congested environment may prompt citizens, like well-paid bankers, to dream of a saner life in another country.
Singaporeans do not have an escape hatch, unlike in highly congested New York or London, whose workforce and inhabitants have the option of enjoying tranquil suburbs within driving distance.
It is better for Singapore in the long run if the Government strategically plans for a population decrease instead.
At the current pace, our present generation of working adults may mostly end up emigrating (with their money) or growing old with a host of health problems brought about by extended work stress.
There is still time to intervene to enable our greying population to age gracefully, in better health and less dependent on the shrinking pool of the younger generation.
In the end, a less congested country with a better quality of life will encourage couples to have children.

In the future, we need to import 100,000 new citizens a year because we need to support even more old people when population is 6 or 7 or 8 million.

There is no way the country can increase its population without increasing its infrastructures.

It is political cleansing.
Those not happy can leave.
Those that stay will become the minority with huge influx of foreigners.
The foreigners will support whoever let in their whole clan to abuse the place.
Since they will move on after they get all the benefits and less the NS and tax, they dun care about the future of the place.
In the end, the self-serving group will stay on top of the animal farm.
Productivity ? Show me what is productivity from youself before you ask for it.

The only thing I'd be interested to know is: Will 60.1% still vote PAP in 2016? But of course I'll be long gone from sg by then. Wont want to be around to suffer the consequences when PAP wins. Even if the the opp. wins, the time needed to repair the damage PAP's caused will take generations to undo.

Unless PAP massively imports aliens to come and vote for them, I think PAP votes will continue to drop in 2016.
I expect 54% and below to vote for PAP in 2016. As for Hougang by election, which PAP is reluctant to hold, they will lose.
PAP has lost votes in the past, is losing votes now and will continue to lose votes in the future.

When the red took over, it will be same for the world class transport system.
No maintenance and repair for many years, all benefits being milked.
By the time they take over, they will be doing all the costly repair and renewal.

What is the problem? We have so much land to accomodate everyone. At the very most we can build 50 storey underground shoe box size units to accomodate our people. There will be 24 hours lighting and we can improve productivity . Maybe we can have all sleeping in bedsitter size cabins! Then we can even have 20 million people. All travelling by liftalators and elevatorollers vertically up and down in a new MOLE CITY! what a paradise this will be! Integrate! Horizontally and Vertically! Integrate! -

PAP has lost votes in the past, is losing votes now and will continue to lose votes in the future.
I already analyzed this at the GE. 2.2 million voters, among them 200K New Citizens of voting age, most voting for PAP.
= 55% of natives voted for the PAP. Native votes at next GE will be even lower. Probably not below 50% since the old people are not that old, they're not dying at a high enough rate.

3 million people contributing $12,000 each to the GDP
vs
6 million people contributing $8,000 each to the GDP
the MIW will take the 6 million anytime... anything for GDP growth
