We bail out eroupe?
Originally posted by Bikeforceful:It was announced that S’pore has joined the BIG BOYS! We are helping to bail out EUROPE! Yes the little red dot does it again! 4 BILLION dollars commitment to the IMF together with the big boys- China Japan and Russia ! My first reaction was to feel great pride! But then I ask – why are we involved in bailing out these people? Can we afford to do this? For less than 2 thousand desperate families in Singapura we were so careful to debate AT LENGTH as to whether they should get 30 dollars more a month, less we encourage a crutch mentality! BUT my Singaporean pride tells me to ” forget my mini-micro frog in the well mentality, we must look at the BIG picture!- Now our little red dot is glowing brightly and NOTICED by everyone on the world stage!”
What are your thoughts everyone?
actually if sg was the big boys i would feel proud. because i once ask if they know singapore on Yahoo! Answers, they told me that sg is part of china

easy money , just down coe quota, more tolls
$4bil enuf to help the Europeans?
wow. fantastic baby.
To hell with the IMF lah.
How the IMF Props Up the Bankrupt Dollar System
It may not be a bad move.
Firstly, when you pledge doesn't mean you have to come up with the money, it's just a pledge until when they really need the money, then it's up to Singapore to fulfil the pledge.
Secondly, when you pledge to help others, there is a good chance when you need help, others will return the kind gesture.
Thirdly, it's PAP style. Stylo milo lah! They first take care of the foreigners overseas first, followed by foreigners in Singapore, then we talk about the poor Singaporean families here.
IMF need EURO 400 billion to bail out Europe.
Singapore pledge US$ 4 billion.
From where ?
The money cannot be used to FIX the world class transport.
I am not refering to buy the bus.
I am refering to the MRT (Maintenance Run-down Train)
yeah, kinda agree with bikeforcefull.
i hate seeing old people picking up cans on the streets!
i even hate seeing people reluctant to seek medical treatment because they are afriad they will not able to pay the medical bills.
s'pore have $$$ to bailout 1% of euroupe, no $$ to help old people or poor families.

When you are old you will also be 1 of those who end up picking cans on the streets
I see it as necessary charity...
But whats 4 billion to our delegated authority? Its just a number to them.
The aged recycling cans are still dignified compared to wiping tables, janitoring or frontline service. Can we give those that deserve retirement a more dignified job than these?
pea- nuts

one do grow old and may be picking up cans or cardboards but they are far better than those young do-nothings and they will grow old too.
