THE stump-like stools built near the lift doors at Block 169 Stirling Road are good for seniors who need to sit while waiting for the lifts ('Stirling Road block gets seats at lift landings'; last Saturday).
However, each seat can sit only one person, and they tend to clutter up the lift landing.
A more aesthetically pleasing alternative may be to build a bench against a wall or wide pillar nearby. This bench could be long enough to sit two to four people. Low arm-rests could be built at both ends of the bench to prevent people from falling over.
The arm-rests will also discourage people from lying down or sleeping on the bench. The wall or pillar behind the bench will provide a back-rest for elderly residents to sit safely and comfortably.

Would be good to have a place to rest those aching old bones stool or bench.
They might also consider a stainles steel low shelf inside the lift car, so that the old folks can sit down while going up or down.
No bench is because they don't want people to sleep on them.
You want to see how many homeless people wandering the void decks every night?
Speaking of homeless people, while i was having lunch at the market at Amk Ave 10, a youth came up to me to ask for donation
took a look and donated $10 immediately as it is meant to help those in need (the elderly, children, you guys know lah, ok)
wondering if u guys met any of them
