damn stress.
Yes, damn stressed.
This is a joke. I work as a limo driver.
Most of the time, I will ferry overseas guest with a lot of luggage and these luggage are big and heavy.
These senior citizens are porters who help with the luggage. You know how poor things they are just to earn that meager tips of $10? Some guests do not even to bother to give tips. They work rotating shifts even during the midnight shift whilst people of their age should be resting at home.
I have spoken with them and they have no cpf contribution. Salary is 3 digits and part timers earn less than $5 per hour.
Life sucks for them. I have so many guests who are taken aback when they see someone so senior helping with their big and heavy luggage.
This is downright exploitation by the best airport in the richest city!
And we actually allow it to happen!
What to do?
We accept it as a privilege to work till you are so old.
Just like expensive public housing, $50,000 COE, increasing gst to help the poor.
old n cheap.
fifi dun like old stuff.

NTUC Fairprice is paying part time elderly folks at 2.60 or 2.70 per hour.
"First World" ministers paying themselves highest salary int he world and give pathetic hourly rate of 2.60 or 2.70. This is the way the govt "takes care" of elderly folks. hahahhahaha. Vote them la , see what you get!!!!!!!!

It's affordable.
If your annual salary is one million dollars, you can afford maybe 10-15 COEs.
Just the sight of old men working as porters says a lot about our society, right? Seeing aunties clear plates at foodcourts, no? Or working as cleaners in shopping centres? Something damn wrong.
Come to think of it, nobody's praising the shopping centres for hiring the elderly as cleaners?

Wondering how kind they are when they hire the elderly part timers and pay the 2.60 or 2.70 per hour
