Eh..
They focused too much on retail... All the simple aspects of train ops, no one cares.. Not need the CEO, whoever is directly in-charge of the train
More retail avenue, then no need to increase passenger fares mah. Don't think you can find a better transport operator.
waaaaaaaaaaa born to be a politician
never admit mistakes but always try to sidetrack
So who is the new ceo who will take over?
Anybody knows ?
There is an interim CEO at the moment, but whether he becomes the CEO we don't know.
Still remembered her comments abt the NEL back in 2004...
But anyway, now the CCL off peak hr loading is going to gibe SMRT a big headache for a nong nong time.
so who's going to be the next CEO...
I dun wanna hear:
"Train breakdown is once in 50 years"
"Train is not overcrowded, it is just train-ing (ponding)"
"Who like SMRT? KEE CHIU~"
"SMRT fare is just like chai tao kway~ U wan to spend $10 eat at peach garden XO chai tao kway or u wan to buy $1.50 chai tao kway at the hwaker centre which wont taste as good"
"SMRT dunno wat to sayyyy~~~"
"If you dun take SMRT then u have to prepare to repent!"
"We must increase fare seriously. We need to consider that if we dun raise fare, my family's standard of living will be compromised."

maybe HE said "one of these days, i'm coming out of the closet along with the PM's husband and not have to do this damnable drag act"
She did put in effort, in improving the MRT.
But commerical MRT for public transport can never go together. The idea of a commerical company is to gain as much profit as possible. The idea of public transport is to provide the cheapest way for people to travel.
If there is a choice, I think people will not wan to squeeze in the MRT.
Praise the Ex-ceo!
long live smrt!
just don't take passengers anymore
If don't take MRT, can take helicopter to work?

Skimped on maintenance, skimped on increasing train frequency, relied on the govt to pay for new trains and infrastructure, just kept the profits.
Ms Saw Phaik Hwa, who leaves train operator SMRT Corp on Thursday after helming it for nine years, has found a new job.
The 57-year-old would say only that she is joining a listed company which is not in the transportation field.
She added that it was not appropriate for her to reveal its identity, given that the company is publicly listed and should make the announcement of her appointment.
Ms Saw resigned from SMRT on Jan 6, shortly after two massive rail breakdowns of the North-South Line last December triggered a government-appointed committee of inquiry that will begin hearing on April 16.
