true true but there are really very poor ppl in Singapore!
As I've said - during my social project, I went to the poorest parts of Singapore. All over the island to speak with n to interview these ppl.
These ppl are like 'no sound, no picture' to the general public because they are not part of the public domain.
Poor stay at home, sick stay at home, elderly stay also at home. Even HDB precincts got richer part and poorer part mah. So how ppl know they exist?
Give you one eg. Saw one family - rented 1 rm flat, father cook assistant, 2 children, wife just passed away of terminal illness. The small boy, my heart went out to him. 3 y o tot - dirty, smelly, no one clean after him, no one look after him, eat anything he can find, no toy to play with.
Many more such cases. I dont like to say too much about these things in a forum. But these are the reality of some ppl, born into this world, born into 'rich' Singapore, born into poverty.

as mentioned and highlighted, accredited cleaning companies are welcomed, but the authority should take the lead to ensure market rates for cleaners are paid to them and all their employment contracts are MOM approved with cleaners protection clauses in terms of their minimum salary, scope of works, etc...

My heart goes out for the 3 year old boy.
Being born poor in Singapore is the worst.
The boy will basically be surrounded by rich kids who parents have a car.
Then the boy will be wondering why is he so terribly poor.
Where would he be when he was 16? Most likely a gangster.

one day when u grow up, you will see (if your heart dont choose be closed) ppl of all shapes, sizes and makeups....like the chinese say ......."human lives, 100 expressions".

Not true. Go to SCORE or half-way house. They can provide the jail birds with decent jobs, such as carpenter, baker and etc. But the adminstrators are abit cocky.

In the first place, cleaners dont earn more than 1K. Dont forget their earnings actually add onto our expenses directly. So forget about rising their salary. I support employing FW to do the job.

no leh.. if they earn more than $1k, they won't be considered poor...

young people of cos they can say that esp if they got certs and qualifications,so they able to compete with FTs!but lesser educated and seniors they r discriminated cos either too old for certain jobs or jobs taken by foreign workers cos their salaries much lower!furthermore foreigners either are forced to do OTs or demand more OTs to compensate for a lower salary!but in actual fact employing such people comes to the same thing not much advantage!

the whole foreign ceha'p talent' policy is haywore in teh frst place. you know we all know how they cum here - on borrowed money. so when they cum here work in this kind of condition what do you think their mindset will be like? a chance that if they fail in what they do they break or bend. and cause more socila problem shere. the latest initial-D hit and run case at budget terminal is tthe hot news.
if you are a taklent then no need borrowed money can just cum here lah. no talent its like gambling a chance you lose it all , also lose in teh brain. nomoney pay cab fares get stupig reason to hijack a taxi and drive to budget terminal alas forget also no money to buy air ticket home, but hijecking a pane is not as easy as hijecking a cab so die lah like that, just go sg jail stay a few years 10 star hotle, free lodging and meals,
