SINGAPORE: The Singapore Hokkien Huay Kuan organised its Lunar New Year get-together on Saturday evening.
The event saw more than 250 people from 29 Fujian-related clan associations.
Acting
Community Development, Youth and Sports Minister Chan Chun Sing graced
the event, which traditionally marks an opportunity for clans to gather
and renew ties.
In his address, Mr Chan noted the importance of leadership renewal - something he said the association has done well.
The
Hokkien Huay Kuan was recently awarded one of the five prestigious Clan
of the Year Awards by the Federation of Chinese Clan Associations.
