there is always ang mos in Shenton Way even back in the 70s. More ang mos back in the 60s although Shenton Way is not developed.
Haha I think I'm the in-between era. I grow up without much electronics. The most being the television (my favourite until now hahahaha). I used to watch cartoons each evening on channel 8 and channel 5 (when okto wasn't founded yet). There were more interactions with neighbours' kids, stray cats at the playground, hanging out at grandma's coffee stall etc..

Can't criticise Lee Kuan Yew on this policy as Indonesia was hostile to us during that period. Although I am opposed to foreign bases and troops.

The dominoes.
I still remember kiddy shows like Baba Papa, Mumbly, Electric Company, Xiao Tian Tian..
And the Jap. pop craze days where the teenagers wore like Checkers, Akina Nakamori, Seiko Matsuda and hang around at Centrepoint.
Hair styled like a rooster with spikey fringe was so in then.
Madonna and Michael Jackson were also extremely hot then.
Breakdancing was a hit .
And I remember those silly skating days in big groups with names like Lorelei.Haha..
I also loved the Kalkitoes..wonder anyone remembers that..
During those old days, there were people selling food in scooters. I used to live in a high floor apartment then. When they came, my mom would put some cash on a basket, tie a string to it and lower it down from the kitchen window to the ground level. The food-seller would take the money, put the no. of packets of nasi lemak my mom wanted into the basket. Then my mom would bring up the basket by pulling back the string up. Very unique. Sweet memories...

Playing Sega Megadrive games like Shinobi,FIFA 94 and Bareknuckles on TV.Paying 35 cents for bus fares.Eating prawn noodles and char kuay teow at the hawker center downstairs for only $1.50.
