They usually come here first. Don't know why. Sometimes very serious, but post here first for what to do.
I think, by the time they register or login, and post, they become slightly better. When they read the replys they become cured.

I have a fren suffering from depression....serious case....he tried to kill himself many times...then I brought him to see doctor....he's now recovering....but the med bills are very high.....dunno can sustain or not...you see, he stopped working due to his illness....still figuring out what to do with $ issues....

Yes..medical costs are astronomical in SG....that's why some people say Singaporeans can die but cannot afford to fall sick....

Medicine for depression only treat the symptoms. It either supress the symptoms, of induce a state of calm, until the drug wears off.
If the root cause is not treated, then the patient would be forever on medication. Medication should only be prescribed for incurable cases.
Its better to be treated psychologically, without drugs.

yes, exactly. $80 for consultation fee alone at public hospital, not to mention it costs more at private hospitals.

Especially if its on a monthly basis....in short, dun fall ill....Singapore is an expensive place to fall sick....

Is there a cheap place to fall ill? Would you like to go to Thailand to fall ill? Medical treatment has its costs. Unless you are fortunate enough to be treated by Doctors Sans Frontiers in some third world country. But then, would that be fortunate?
Somebody pays for medical costs. Even when the patient does not pay.
And if the good doctor does not want payment, well, how long can he last, if he is not paid in some way or other.

So health is very important...no point working sooo hard then fall ill, ended up wasting $ on doctors....Hahaha!

Thailand is not that bad. I do not know which part of Thailand did a doctor went to for a visit and gave good feedback. There are Singaporeans who go Thailand for surgery and feedback was job well done and the cost is much cheaper.

People who are sick (cold, cough) will go see a doctor...but some people with mental illness just refuse to see doctor....why is that ?

I think its best to see a doctor ASAP....before the condition got worse...
