From Stomp:
When a group of canoeists saw a man floating face up in the waters of
Bedok Reservoir on Oct 10, they thought there had been another drowning.
However, thanks to them and a group of joggers, they managed to bring
the man to shore, alive.
To date, Bedok Reservoir has seen four cases of strange deaths and disappearances. On the morning of Oct 10, the body of a man, believed to be an Indian in his 30s, was recovered by SCDF officers.
On Sept 22, the bodies of a mother and son were seen floating in the reservoir. On June 22, the lower half of Mr Lin Xiao's body was found floating in the water by a PUB employee.
And in October last year, the body of an unidentified man was found at the top of a hill in Bedok Reservoir Park.
According
to a report in The New Paper today (Oct 11), a group of four canoeists
first spotted the man, who they thought was dead at first. They waved to
catch the attention of joggers nearby.
One of the rescuers, Mr
Wong Kai Chuan, 33, was the first to respond. He tried to stop other
joggers as he did not have a phone with him to call the police. He also
noticed some twitching motion in the man's left hand and realised he was
still alive.
Fellow rescuer Mr Andy Koh, 44, was the second to
respond. He had initially wanted to perform cardiopulmonary
resuscitation (CPR) on the man, but noticed the man was breathing on his
own.
The man, who, according to the SCDF, is a Chinese in his
50s, was wearing a striped polo shirt, jeans and safety boots. Mr Koh
told The New Paper that the man looked like he was halfway through work
or had just finished, and he could smell alcohol on him.
Finally,
Mr Lee Kim Chye, 48, was the one who had a phone with him. He helped to
get the number of the nearest lamp post to aid with pinpointing their
exact location, while Mr Koh used Mr Lee's phone to alert the police.
The
SCDF arrived within eight minutes, but during that time, the joggers
wasted no time and joined forces to carry the man out of the ankle-deep
water and onto the shore.
The Police said in a statement:
"Police received a call yesterday at about 5.45pm informing us that a person was spotted in the waters of Bedok Reservoir.
"A man in his early 50s was subsequently brought to shore and conveyed conscious to Changi General Hospital.
"Police are currently investigating the matter."
odd???2 drownings in same reservoir on same day???
Could be a failed suicide, not confessed since suicide is an offence in Singapore.
That resevoir...冤气很。。。
What's in the reservoir, Sirens???
... still puzzles me how people can possibly drown in reservoirs by accident unless they do something really out of place like trying to waddle in them recreationally when they should be kayaking. but there are pools and the sea for that!

It is quite suprised that after these bizarre incident there are no police patrol around the bedok reservoir area.(at least police nsf can be usefully for these duty). Anyway it is also hard to seek help from MP for prevention of more accident cos I heard part of Bedok is under WP while the East Coast Town Council (Bedok GRC) is under Mr Lim Swee Say. As for our social group like AWARE, they are more interested in respect and accepting gay (another narutard as well), rather than doing usefully thing like marriage counselling or developing parenting skill etc.
should put up a sign at bedok reservoir, no suicide sign.
