So all the signs are going to be malay, english or chinese?
Do malays deserve special rights?
The land originally belong to Malays.
I think Singapore will merge back to Malaysia some days.
Face the facts. Singapore is lack of resources, especially the land. Malaysia is waking up and is catching Singapore behind. Malaysia has potential for great growth as long as they get their politics resolved. They wil eventually catch up and advanced further than Singapore.
Singapore can continue to grow with ever increasing education requirements and expensive housing and super high cost of living. Singaporeans would think and move back to malaysia naturally. Why be a third grade citizen in your own country? When you can be a first grade citizen in another? It is a survival instinct... Who move my cheese?
The word 'merger' is usually used for financial entities (e.g. companies.), not sovereign countries.
The European nations are more similar in ideology, currency, and have "passport-free" access do not discuss merging.
Singapore's sovereignity is to be upheld.

Can't base on originally because before the Malays, there were others, like Indians, Bugis, Achinese, Siamese, Javanese, and after, the British, Japanese,
Now its ours.
Until we can't hold on to it anymore.
Then who knows, Malaysia, Indonesia, and China might claim Singapore as part of the Spratleys, and bring up Admiral Cheng Ho's lost map.

Benefits? hahahaha....supposing they merge, how about the cpf issue? Will they want to follow us? Or return our cpf money? How about 1st language? How about ISA issue? So many issues.....better remain seperate.

greatest barrier is pride.
merger is unlikely...acquisition is more probable..
It's impossible.....the malaysian malay mentality is one major stumbling block. If they were mostly chinese like sg, then perhaps.
any option is possible wen singapore can no longer sustains its growth

Why China has bilingual road signs while Singapore doesn't have?
75% chinese, but road signs all in english. What poppycock is that?
This is a totally wrong policy. It is not a correct policy at all.
It is a completely wrong policy.
When ruler is banana, you get monkey policies.
