A man believed to have tried to snatch a 75-year-old woman's handbag was arrested early on Wednesday morning.
At about 12 pm on Tuesday, the victim was walking at Blk 88 Redhill Close when a man suddenly came from behind and tried to snatch away her handbag. The man, however, was unsuccessful and fled the scene.
With the help of a member of public who provided valuable information about the suspect's identity, police traced and arrested the 52-year-old man in a unit at the same block at 1.45am on Wednesday.
If convicted of snatch theft, the suspect faces a jail term of up to seven years and caning.
