AS A resident of West Coast Drive, I have been plagued by noise from an establishment in Hong Leong Gardens Shopping Centre, for which no authority, including the police, is willing to take responsibility.
There is an alfresco concept dining outlet, which looks like a pub, located in the shopping centre, with no sound-proof measures or even doors.
Within 50m of the pub, across the road, there is a row of private houses.
At times, past midnight, patrons of the pub are still shouting at the top of their voices, even after the police have been called.
Shouldn't noisy activities stop at 11pm in residential areas?
I am told that the Clementi Police Division, which answers residents' complaints, can only advise patrons to lower the volume.
Is there another avenue the police can pursue, such as not renewing the outlet's liquor licence as it is unable to stop its patrons disturbing the peace?
Tan Shao Ken
coz many of the patrons r FTs
