Loansharks are now throwing faeces at their victims' flats.
Seven households staying at Blk 862A, Tampines Street 83 have been harassed by loansharks since April this year.
According to posters left by the loansharks, the debtee stays on the ninth floor. But residents staying on other floors are equally victims of harassment.
Mdm Lin (44, transport employee) told reporters that the police had installed two closed circuit cameras on the ninth floor, but the loansharks continue to make use of blind spots to commit their acts. She said the loansharks have come to harass the residents at least five times, most recently on Wednesday afternoon.
She said, "They went up to the stairwell on the tenth floor, and threw faeces from on top. The faeces landed on the staircase railings all the way down, including on the ninth, seventh and second floors".
Mdm Lin says that the loansharks first started throwing faeces at the block from three weeks ago. They also throw ink on the corridors and on their doors. When the ink dries and hardens, it gives off a foul smell that cannot be washed away easily.
Reporters also spoke to the household of the supposed debtee that may have been the root cause of all the loanshark harassment.
Mrs Chen (55, housewife) stays on the ninth floor and she says her son (26, mover) did not borrow from loansharks.
