THIS May, I had my first experience as an overseas voter. After watching most of the GE 2011 campaign videos, reading the tweets and commenting on Facebook, I began to pay more attention to the problems and issues in Singapore. I became more aware of the importance of government policies and their impact on citizens.
It was heartening to see Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong giving the National Day Rally speech when I returned from Britain for the summer break. The speech did indeed show that Singapore's Government listens to the people. Of course, no plan is fool-proof but I was immensely impressed by the measures taken by the Government to help Singaporeans. I would have had a better and deeper experience of the Rally if I could have attended the event in person and listened to the delivery.
I suggest a bigger venue such as the Singapore Indoor Stadium or an equivalent so that more people could be invited to attend.
I am on an internship under the Internships@Gov programme and I was hoping that one of the components of the programme would be an invitation to the National Day Rally. The group of interns in this programme consists of many overseas-educated students who are not on any government scholarships and would be interested to join the public service after graduation, just like myself.
I really look forward to the next National Day Rally and hopefully, this time, it would be held in a bigger venue, allowing opportunities for students like myself to attend.

where is this bigger venue?
let's just flatten sentosa and make it a "big venue" for all our celebrations and major national events.
Please, the writer thinks majority of us want to attend the talk c session by a sissy lhl pm .
Give me money also I don't want to go.
cannot have bigger venue, have to bring more elderly, more troublesome for organiser.
indoor stadium lor
Can hold in JB. Bigger venue, bigger space, rent for one night.
actually rally should include Q&A session. we should ask PM Lee series of questions after the rally.

can we ever live to see a day, an opposition forming a government in SG?

dun worry, politicians are skilled at dodging or even non answering of the question. when u ask him A and he cant answer, all he does is to answer in B.

like what the white hair fox did here:
PAP has been in power for a long time, it is starting to get complacent and arrogance.
The trend globally now is to change ruling party, Singapore still very outdated.
Most still very politically childish, brain not intelligent politically.
