why are you people complaining even though they have compromised?
Why are you so against people who are not happy with the compromise?
Did it not cross your mind that this compromise is unreasonable and this will pave way for more bully from the foreigners?
Or is any of the PRC family involved your girlfriend or good friend that you are doing your best to defend them?

to answer your question - i find it unreasonable. so i wont compromised. i will continue cooking curry anytime i want.
but thats not the issue now. the issue is they reached a compromise. so its none of anybody else's business!!!
Since you said that it is also none of your bloody damn business, why are you so fierce and adamant to keep siding the PRC?
YOu are a shame to Singaporean! Traitor

the parties involved agreed to a compromise but parties not involved kick a big fuss.
it doesnt sound weird to you??

You are fierce to defend the PRC and insisting should leave the matter as it is. You are not happy people don't agree with you. So what if I used the word "damn" it, you deserve it!
REad read carefully with your eyes wide open, people are complaining about your comments indirectly, be wise!
If you are not affected why you keep insisting?
YOu good in turning the table around.

it is a matter of looking at the whole issue with the interest of Singaporeans. When things go wrong if Singaporeans don't side Singaporeans , who will? You know our govt is so pro foreigners.

high time to wake up your sense of belonging
unless u r not a singaporean
I don't know the full picture of what happened, or even if the indian family is also a FT or etc.
But, imptly, I think that if you were to come into a new environment, you should learn to adapt. And surely not to question something so traditionallly or fundamentally.
In short, this time, curry, what's next, ask a Malay family not to cook chilli?
We, Singaporeans have all learn to be tolerant of others' races. But this touch the nerves of many as we all felt that we have been giving up our spaces and in short, our national identity. Yes, a small incident, or a resolved one, but it has left many a bitter after-taste.
No doubt, this is resolved, but as we "welcome" more and more, I do believe we will have many more such "conflicts", and this should be nipped in the bud.
Just my two cents. no offense to any.

i think no doubt, we are trying to protect our singapore identity.
but we should all be mature and open to all forms of discussion and not be personal.
IMO, I think the CMC compromised the Indian family's rights.
In this situation CMC holds the power. After the PRC people complained, CMC had the option of accepting it and doing what they did, or tell them to jia sai (not curry). CMC decided to 'accept' the complaint and hence drag the Indian family into this.
Tis BS.
Besides the smell of curry, we also accept Malay weddings blaring music on weekends, we pass by Chinese funerals in the void decks nonchalantly.
Must we compromise all these on account that the new comers cannot accept them?
Or the new comers be told that all these are part and parcel of living in the heartlands of Singapore?

They are tyrants in foreign lands and the authority condones this. Sad!
Originally posted by dragg:its an isolated incident blown out of proportion.
some singaporeans are now taking every single issue, however trivial, they can to shoot down foreigners.
frankly, its disgraceful behaviour.
we may not welcome so many foreigners in our country, but its not their coming here. its our govt's fault allowing them in.
Everything is a isolated incident isnt it. The PRC curry, the pinoy insulting singaporeans. Is there anything thats not an isolated incident ?
Yes we hate the foreigners so what ?
The foreigners come here due to circumstances. They complained about our living habits while they themselves are guests to this country. We only complain and voice out our unhappiness. You said we are disgraceful.
Why not try doing this in countries like parkistan. I'll like to see what disgraceful acts the parkistans will do to you.

what is your way then? take to the streets and burn cars, beat people up?
maybe we should do something like the UK incident

cxanoot like that say.old ah pek wants us to embrace them. those can procreate very fast and reproduce like ants 1. we need people, immigrants. that's 1 country cna easily get. he don;t care, once he die his few geenration later go moneyhere and tehre. but many generations later singapore will lose its flair and shine already.
It is not isolated incident.
A similar situation that PRC kicks off towards Singaporeans is, when they cannot handle English and Singlish, I have seen PRC rudely & scarstically remark towards the conversation party : " You cannot speak Mandarin ah! "
It is their intolerance inbuilt into them, not curry onli. Almost a lot of issue.s
dont pray pray arh. curry power i make into payload for my missile shoot then they know arh!
For me i just cook my curry as when i like. go CMC also i insist i want to cook my curry. They just cant do anything to me. My own home yet i cannot cook, what logic is that? Not happy go back to China. Want to come to my country then learn our cultures. CMC really no balls in this case. Just my opinions la
