Another foreigner giving trouble:
Following the saga of “currygate” in which a Singapore Indian family was banned by the Community Mediation Center (CMC) from cooking curry at home when their PRC neighbors are around, an Indian new citizen living in Singapore has taken a jibe at the shocking decision made by CMC.
An obviously stunned netizen posted a snapshot of a comment left by Indian ‘FT” Mayank Agarwal on ‘currygate’ on the Facebook of a friend:
Some netizens noted a tone of sarcasm in his comments and pointed out that he may be ‘trolling’. In response to queries from Temasek Review Emeritus (TRE), Mr Mayank Agarwal wrote:
“Of course not man. It’s a sarcastic retort to their recent decision on the curry issue. The point being that we have to live with and accommodate each other’s culture and heritage. ESPECIALLY so when we move to another country.
I am amazed (and disappointed) that some people can’t see that the message is clearly directed at the CMC and not at any person/race/religion. I seem to have stirred up a hornet’s nest with my remark!”
CMC has since clarified that its mediator did not propose the settlement, prompting netizens to question why CMC has bothered to entertain the PRC family’s ‘frivolous’ complaint in the meantime.
In other countries, immigrants are expected to integrate into the local society, but in Singapore, it is Singaporeans who are implored time and again by the PAP regime to bend over to accomodate the newcomers.
Despite spluring $10 million dollars of taxpayers’ monies on a ‘Community Integration Fund’ last year to make the foreigners feel happy, accepted and welcomed in Singapore, social tension between Singaporeans and foreigners continue to rise due to the lack of a well-thought immigration policy to integrate the newcomers while addressing the concerns of locals at the same time.
Too many foreigners are brought into Singapore within too short a period of time such that they prefer to congregate within their own communities instead of reaching out to native Singaporeans and assimilate into Singapore society.
Judging from the silence of PAP leaders and the state media on these incidents, it appears the establishment is quietly condoning the behavior of the foreigners.
With rising public dissatisfaction and anger against the PAP regime, the PAP following the example of its Malaysian counterpart UMNO in mass-importing foreigners and giving them instant citizenships in exchange for their votes.
i am cooking curry August 21.....are you?
