SINGAPORE: National
Development Minister Khaw Boon Wan said grassroots organisations will
have to focus on youth outreach in the future.
Mr Khaw said this after a meeting with youths at Sembawang GRC on Sunday.
Mr Khaw, who is also MP for Sembawang GRC, said getting senior citizens involved in grassroots activities has been successful.
But
he said a change in strategy is needed to reach out to youth. And
that's because youth have multiple interests, and do not take to a
top-down approach.
Mr Khaw said: "You have to find, to discover
what is it that interests them, and activities have to be organised
around those interests. So the best way is that young people themselves
come up with the ideas. We have some money, we'll support them; we'll
provide the platform, they provide the ideas, and they provide the
organisation."

overemphasizing on young voters is a gross neglect of the old people...again balance should be set right....do not repeat the same mistake of overemphasizing on women charter to the detriment of the male population...
just out there....pull these ministers' collars out into the open and show them how pitiful these old people living from hand to mouth, searcing for empty cans everyday are like...
