THE Housing Board has put up for tender a piece of land at Punggol Field Walk.
This land is used by many residents for picnics, kite-flying, running, cycling and other activities.
There is plenty of land available for development in Punggol and I hope the authorities will consider leaving this plot alone, so that residents can continue to enjoy the green space.
Moreover, it is always a welcome sight for 'Punggolites' to come home from the Kallang-Paya Lebar Expressway and see such lovely greenery as they enter Punggol Town.

Good to have more green for the residents.
Good to see they're making aneffort to keep the green amongst the concrete jungles.

Why use the land for picnics or kite flying when you can use it to build $800K public housing?
You want to raid the reserves?

When lease expires, then you pay another million dollars to extend for another 99 years lor.

Coney Island also reclaimed before. North coast only small pockets can be considered original shorelines. West and south totally altered.
I guess it's left Khatib & Sembawang Rd End or even Admiralty Rd West's coastal end tat's left untouched.

Sembawang end was reclaimed in the 1930s when they built the naval base.
Khatib and perhaps a small stretch at Lim Chu Kang Road end could be considered original shoreline.
