MY FAMILY and I, including my mother-in-law, visited the SkyPark at Marina Bay Sands on June 25.
The ticket rules stated that senior citizens aged 65 or older were entitled to a discounted price of $17.
My husband confirmed the eligibility for the discount with the customer service officer before buying the ticket for my mother-in-law, who is 64 years old.
Just as he was about to sign the bill, he overheard another Sands officer informing a Caucasian couple that as one of them was 64 years old, she would be given the discounted senior citizens' rate.
My husband was dumbfounded and clarified with the customer service officer again. A supervisor was subsequently called. After much debate, the supervisor extended the discounted rate to my mother-in-law.
If my husband had not overheard the conversation, he would have paid the full rate for the ticket for my mother-in-law. What is Marina Bay Sands' criteria in making discretionary exceptions for discounted rates?

I wonder why people keep thinking Singaporeans are 2nd or even 3rd class citizens in their own country.
