THE recent discussions on noise pollution ('Yes, do reduce the noise'; last Thursday and 'Noise standards comply with WHO guidelines'; last Saturday) made me wonder why nobody seems to notice another major source of noise - motorcycles.
Many of us have come across situations whereby motorcycles with modified exhaust pipes zoom pass, creating unbearable noise.
It is no exaggeration to say that the noise from these modified motorcycles is so loud that one may get a sudden fright while walking on the road.
What are the relevant authorities doing about this form of noise pollution? Does it come under the jurisdiction of the Traffic Police or the National Environment Agency?

some noisy bikers who start revving in the middle of the night...
really a noise pollution.
