LAST Saturday's report ("More HDB flats - and at a faster rate") quoted National Development Minister Khaw Boon Wan as saying that the announced increase in supply of new HDB flats was intended to help young couples own their homes as soon as possible so they could start a family, which is a national priority.
However, the floor area of each type of HDB flat has become smaller over the years and increasingly unsuitable for large families.
Is it really necessary to shrink the floor area when we are building our flats ever higher and the blocks ever closer together? More spacious flats would encourage people to have more children.

Nowadays, couples dont have want to have children or unable to have children, a small flat is a better option for them espeically out birth rate is taking a skydive downwards.
Soon we will have 50th storey flats and smaller in size.
Bigger flat also don’t mean the couple will have children
We need to spike the drinking water with spanish fly.
If flat sizes don't shrink, how to accomodate 6 over million people?
How?
