QUEENSTOWN is one of the oldest housing estates built by the Housing Board. Now, the central area - around Queenstown MRT station, Margaret Drive, Commonwealth Avenue and Stirling Road - is deserted. It is like a 'ghost town', especially after 6pm.
During a 'Let's Chat' session five years ago with our MP, we were shown the redevelopment plan for this area. There will be five 40-storey blocks of flats and other facilities in front of the Queenstown Library, stretching up to the MRT station. What is the progress of this redevelopment?
Blocks 172 to 175 in Stirling Road were demolished a few years ago and the land is still vacant. There are also many plots of empty land along both sides of Alexandra Road, from Delta Road up to Tanglin Road. It would be ideal if the Housing Board can build more blocks of flats there.

i go there for chicken rice nia, last time.
Wow. If I had more empty green space around my area, I'd be so happy!
This guy wants more crowds to compete with, block his view, take his train... hurt his ears with foreign tongues...
Queenstown is neglected as it's always a walkover.
I prefer wide open spaces, no high rise buildings, no foreigners, less crowds and a peaceful and quiet place.
Queenstown seems like my kind of place.
Queenstown is not ghost town, it's just a more peaceful place, unlike my Jurong, completely flooded with aliens.

Queenstown is a ghost town now BUT there are many BTO projects going on now and very soon Queenstown will be a re-developed new town at a very central location.
even the MP has abandoned them and went over to replace the Steve Lim guy

What is the grassroots members doing?
Walkover means dont need to keep the place clean?

They're building 1 iconic expensive HDB project at Margaret Drive isn't it?
Walkover means no MRT station in your neighbourhood till 2020. Take marine parade for example. Don't flame me please.
