did he promise of no corp tax revision???
If he can tell sporean that he garantee or promisd that it wont increase in the next 5 years, then I believe him and pap.
Anyway, if we compare to other countries, we have the lowest gst.
You may have amnesia. They promised Potong Pasir but never kept their word. Lower taxes or No GST in many countries. Travel 20 minutes away to JB and 'feel' the difference. Do you drive ?
do you know e prob M'sian govt is facing w/ subsidy?? 14 yrs of budget defecit
They're wanting to implement a 5% GST in M'sia too.

ha...let them implement, for most of them over there, everyday shake leg and do nothing. They simply cannot compare to us. JB is not cheap, prices are almost the same as in Spore. Plus....not a good security too.

It's not a matter of low or high GST.
Other countries have high GST because they need to have money for their country's pension retirement plans and social programs. These GST revenues are required to fund these programs.
Singapore does not have any national retirement pension plan for the people (other than the select few, no need to say who they are) , so a high GST rate does not make too much sense.
Our retirement money is all from CPF which is technically our own money/savings.

Who says JB is not cheaper ? For Singaporean, it is cheaper for most things but definitely NOT good enough to send your parents and citizens to an old-age home there. See the perspectives......Buy Milo in cans at a retail shop in ringgit, you can still make a very resonable profit by selling them Singapore at S$. Ok ?
As for security, it is relative. Low crime does not mean no crime in Singapore.........and where suicides from financial difficulties (including casinos related) goes unreported.
