DOCK workers at Pasir Panjang Container Terminal were startled when they heard banging sounds coming from a container on Sunday night.
The container, which had been there since late last month, was supposed to be empty.
When the workers opened it, they were shocked by what they found - a Bangladeshi man alive and frantic to get out because he could no longer bear the stench from the decomposing corpse of another Bangladeshi.
It is believed the container had come from Bangladesh with the two men in it, and had been dropped off at the port.
Dock workers who spoke to The Straits Times said that all containers from Singapore are put through a scanner when they are transported into the port, but containers that are in transit from another country might not undergo that process.
But these transit containers, they said, are sealed, and it would be almost impossible for people to get into them.
Ouch. That must've stunk.
I feel sorry for these indian nationals.
".... because he could no longer bear the stench from the decomposing corpse of another Bangladeshi".
Haiz
Will be hard to charge for illegal entry. Intent of illegal entry not there.
I would have vomit my guts out if I'm left in a small enclosed space with a decomposing body.
the marijuana might has help to keep him hallucinating.
