so sad. RIP.
Some of the household dont want to fit any window grills at all especially with the new hdb high rise flats.
When children came to visit their neighbours I usually stand at the window in case my kids climb over.
when i was 6 years old i already snse danger when i look out of the unlocked window.
so i keep out of trouble. now kids getting stupier. thank god this one fell at home instead of at the mrt tracks. if no many thousand s of commuters will be affected.
RIP
I know how the mother feels. I feel sad for her. The guilt is going to be with her forever. My friend's mother, who is now 80+ year old. She lost a son 60 years ago. Till now, she still blames herself for her son's death after 60 years. Sometimes she will weep quietly because she misses her son.
Although she is a great grandmother with many daughters, sons and grandchildren, she told me she has never been happy because she lost a son 60 years ago. Sometimes she will ask my friend to leave her alone because she wants to stay at home and talks to her dead son. Besides this weird talk, she looks perfectly normal to me. Her pain of losing a son did not go away after 60 years. I think she will bring her guilt to her grave. I feel sad for her.
I talked to many young couples why they dont want to fit the window grills, and their reason is the unit will look like a jail. Not nice, not beautiful.
But why not think about their children safety? Nowadays, children very naughty and playful...unlike the past, very gong gong type.
RIP...condolosence to the parent.
it is very sad. RIP

TRAGIC FALLBoy's death prompts child safety warnings
Children aged under 10 should not be left at home alone, say experts
By Melissa Pang, Fiona Low & Yuen SinTHE case of the six-year-old boy who fell to his death on Monday while he was left at home alone is a tragedy which has repeated itself.Since 1996, there have been at least eight other cases of children who sustained injuries or died when they were unsupervised or left alone at home.
I dont agreed that children age under 10 should not be left alone. Even more than 10 yr old also dangerous especially without window grills.
Maybe hdb should make it compulsory for every household to have window grills.
