A SINGAPOREAN lost RM240,000 (S$100,290) at a casino when she tried to win back the RM500 she had previously lost, Sin Chew Daily reported.
The woman, who is a professional with a double master's degree, said she tried to win the money back by using all her savings as well as borrowing from others.
She is now looking for someone to give her a loan to pay off her debts as she does not dare disclose it to her family.
'I am worried that my husband may divorce me if he finds out,' she said.

Lemme guess what happened..... first she lost RM500.
Wanting to recoup her loss, she decided to bet some more.
After losing that, she bet some more to recoup those losses.
A vicious cycle, indeed. Two masters' degrees, and she can't seem to understand what it means to 'quit and cut your losses'.
I guess it goes to show that education != wisdom.
GMAT has probability and statistics questions ......
wonder where she got her masters from ....
Gambling is indeed addictive.
You may be able to say control, but when you are at the gambling table, your mind goes that you want to win back what you lost.
I went Macau that day. Managed to control myself to lose a bit... But at one instance, I realised I lost HKD 100 ($16) in 10 minutes... Cos I couldnt help to see myself losing HKD 20 ($3.20) in 1 minute, I ended up betting HKD 80 ($12.80) more and lost HKD 100 instead. Luckily I stopped, else I would have lost HKD 1000 ($160).
RM500.000 + RM240.000 = RM740.000
So she lose almost SGD330.000 lah.......
