SINGAPORE : From May this year, the People's Association plans to roll out programmes to engage women better.
This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean at the International Women's Day carnival on Sunday morning.
One idea is to set up a virtual club just for ladies.
The portal, Her Cozy eCorner, will be led by women. It will provide a range of information, from beauty tips to legal advice.
It aims to reach more working women.
Mr Teo also spoke on women's contribution to politics.
He
said: "Every election, we try and bring in capable women. They are an
important part of our slate in every election because they represent a
very important segment of our society.
"But they do not just
represent women, they are all very capable MPs in their own right and
they represent the men as well. So they work for the whole community and
they bring in a very useful perspective."

It's like Nero burning Rome, another tragedy in the making. Nero had to commit sucide when he was being the targets of assassinations. Another wasteful debauchery
